is located at 120 Broadway in New York City and was completed in 1915. This building was designed by Graham,
Anderson, Probst & White and stands 542 feet tall with 42 floors. This building was the largest in the world
when completed. It caused a major public outcry due to the fact that it cast a 7 acre shadow over lower Manhattan.
The 1916 Zoning resolution was quickly adopted to restrict the bulk and sheerness of new skyscrapers. The Equitable
had much to do with the slender stepped skyscraper style of the 1930's. This pewter replica stands 6 inches tall
and is finished in new pewter.
