Larkin Tower
The Larkin Tower was to be located at the McGraw-Hill Building site (42nd Street, between 8th and 9th Streets) in Midtown Manhattan and was proposed in 1925. This building was designed by Edward Larkin and was to stand 1208 feet tall with 110 floors. The Larkin was never constructed because its design wasn't practical at the time, but if it had been built it would have been the first structure to pass the Eiffel Tower in height. This pewter replica stands 10-1/2 inches tall and is finished in antique pewter. "I'd like to thank Infocustech and Mike Merwine for their support of the Larkin Tower. Although criticized in the 1920's, my Grandfather's design has proven the test of time." Timothy Larkin, Grandson of Edward Larkin..."Functionality, purity of line, and looking to spaces not previously explored is the goal of every architect. The Larkin Tower was Edward Larkin's brave step to the future of a city he helped to build." Elizabeth Larkin, Artist and Granddaughter of Edward Larkin

When I received the Larkin Tower, I can't believe it wasn't practical in 1925 but it definitely practical for my Skyline Collection. This was the second building I bought from Replica Buildings and the design is so Modern with todays buildings.
